ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — With their two second-round draft picks on Saturday, the Flyers went with a defenseman and a goaltender.

At No. 53, Flyers GM Daniel Briere selected backliner Brek Liske, who has been competing for Everett of the Western Hockey League. He’s a 6-foot-1, 190 pounder. This past season he posted seven goals/24 points with an impressive plus-36 in 52 games.

With the No. 62 choice, obtained in Friday night’s trade with the San Jose Sharks, the Flyers picked up goaltender Martin Psohlavic, a 6-foot-5 native of Czechia. Scouts are highly impressed with his tracking, frame and glove hand, which leaves opponents with little to shoot at.
