Gritty visits cancer patient Jack Callahan to celebrate a happy 4th birthday

Gritty meets four-year-old Jack Callahan on his birthday.

Gritty and the  Flyers helped make four-year-old Jack Callahan’s birthday wishes come true, throwing him a Gritty themed birthday party on Wednesday afternoon inside Philadelphia’s Ronald McDonald House.

Jack, a current cancer patient receiving treatment at Childrens’ Hospital of Philadelphia, first sent a letter to Gritty in September noting his hopes for a Gritty birthday party, among other questions for the Flyers mascot.

Wednesday’s celebration came complete with Gritty gifts, silly string, and a Gritty cake from Whipped Bake Shop.
