Flyers set to open 2023 Development Camp on Sunday

Oliver Bonk

VOORHEES, N.J. – With the Flyers on a big-time youth movement, the Flyers’ 2023 Development Camp should draw a lot of interest.

The camp opens Sunday and runs through Thursday at the Flyers Training Center in Voorhees.

All on-ice sessions will be free and open to the public.

Flyers director of player development, Riley Armstrong, and assistant director of player development, Nick Schultz, along with Lehigh Valley Phantoms coaches will lead the on-ice sessions.

Players will participate in daily skating, strength and conditioning sessions, as well as off-ice topics including social media training and sports psychology education.

In addition, camp will conclude with a 5-on-5 scrimmage on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. that is also free and open to the public.

A total of 39 players are scheduled to attend development camp and will be split into two groups: Team Clarke and Team Lindros. Eight of the Flyers 10 draftees from the 2023 NHL Draft, including Oliver Bonk (22nd overall) are scheduled to attend.

The only non-attendees for the camp will be the two Russian players from the recent NHL Draft – forward Matvei Michkov and goaltender Egor Zavragin – who are unavailable.
