Despite some strong goaltending from starter Troy Grosenick and closer Samuel Ersson, the Flyers took a 2-1 loss to the Sabres in a preseason game at Buffalo’s KeyBank Center on Tuesday night.
Brandon Biro scored the first of two goals at 8:24 of the first period but Travis Konecny responded with a breakaway goal for the Flyers at 14:42.
Biro connected for the game-winner at 8:57 of the second period.
The Flyers failed to connect on a nearly full two-minute five-on-three power play in the third period.
Grosenick made 12 saves on 14 shots and Ersson stopped all seven attempts he faced.
The Flyers, now 1-1 in the preseason, return to action on Wednesday when they face the Washington Capitals at the Wells Fargo Center.
