Fans get to meet their favorite players at Flyers Wives Carnival

It’s been around 42 years but it never gets old.

The Flyers Wives Carnival was held at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Sunday and, as usual, drew thousands of fans to meet and interact with their favorite players.

New this year for the Carnival were outdoor activities, including an obstacle course.

Inside, fans were treated to tours of the Flyers’ locker room.

Young attendees were able to try their hand at video games from N3RD Street Gamers.

But the star of the show was none other than new popular mascot “Gritty,’’ who was on hand for his first Carnival. He hit all the popular spots at the event and kept folks in a festive mood.

All proceeds from Sunday’s event will benefit childhood cancer and leukemia research.

Since the first Carnival in 1977, Flyers Charities, the organizing foundation behind the Carnival, has raised more than $27 million to support a multitude of worthy non-profit organizations across the Greater Philadelphia Region.

These charities provide educational and recreational resources to underserved youth, engage in important medical and healthcare research, and promote countless community investment initiatives to positively influence the community.

The list of organizations includes Michael’s Way, the Center for Autism, Snider Hockey, Liberty USO, Living Beyond Breast Cancer, Mission Kids, PAWS, Ronald McDonald House of Philadelphia, and Simon’s Heart.
