Flyers will open first round of playoffs at Pittsburgh

The Flyers, who clinched third place in the Metropolitan Division by way of a win over the Rangers and losses by Columbus and New Jersey, will open their 2018 playoff season at Pittsburgh against the Metro Division’s second-place Penguins.

The first two games of the best-of-seven series are tentatively scheduled to be played at PP&G Paints Arena sometime next week. Dates have yet to be announced.

Philadelphia was winless against the Penguins this past season, going 0-2-2 and getting outscored, 20-11.

The Flyers have had their share of trouble against the Penguins in the playoffs but did take their last meeting in the first round of the 2011-12 playoffs.
